• Thread (50 wt. is recommended)

• Rotary cutter and ruler

2. Layer and Pin

• Take two fabric squares (one light, one dark) and place them right sides together.

• Place a Cake Mix paper sheet on top.

• Pin carefully so that the fabric doesn’t shift while sewing.

3. Stitch Along the Dotted Lines

• Shorten your stitch length to 1.75 - 2.0 (12-14 stitches per inch) to make paper removal easier.

• Sew directly on the dotted lines following the numbered sequence.

4. Cut on the Solid Lines

• Use a rotary cutter and ruler to cut along the solid lines.

• Just like slicing a cake, this step ensures perfect portions of half-square triangles.

5. Press and Peel

• Carefully remove the paper by tearing along the seams—it should come off easily.

• Press seams according to your quilt pattern’s preference.
