Lisa Bongean, the creative mind behind Primitive Gatherings, is known worldwide for her primitive and folk art-inspired quilting. Based in Larsen, Wisconsin, Lisa designs traditional quilts, wool appliqué, and stitching projects, bringing her signature style to quilters everywhere.

A dedicated designer, teacher, and award-winning quilter, Lisa runs Primitive Gatherings alongside her husband, Nick. In 2021, they expanded their vision by opening a state-of-the-art retreat center, set on a 10-acre farm, featuring a 10,000-square-foot retreat house, a large sewing hall, and a shop filled with her quilts, patterns, and Moda fabrics.

Lisa is honored to design fabrics for Moda, embracing the opportunity to bring her rich, traditional aesthetic to quilters and support independent quilt shops like her own.
